Brian Katz, WMCP®, RICP®                                                                                                                          Financial Advisor

Brian Katz joined Prudential in 2012 upon graduating from Yale University, where he earned a BA in Political Science.  He serves as The Katz Group’s Chief Investment Officer, responsible for overseeing the group’s book of business and running the team’s investment/planning process.  Brian is a WMCP® (Wealth Management Certified Professional) designation holder, which confirms his deep knowledge of personal wealth and investment management, including goal-based investment planning, portfolio theory, investment tools, behavioral finance, and advanced wealth management strategies.  He also holds the RICP® (Retirement Income Certified Professional) designation, which validates his proficiency in helping clients design and implement sustainable retirement income strategies from all available resources. Additionally, Brian holds the Series 7 and 66 securities registrations, as well as the Life & Health insurance license. He is a multiple-time qualifier for Prudential’s APEX Conference and served at the co-chair of Prudential’s Field Advisory Council for Investments and Wealth Management from 2020-2023, a role through which he represented the firm’s 3,000+ Financial Advisors and worked closely with the home office to facilitate ongoing progress in the development of the company’s investment platforms and capabilities so that they continue to meet the evolving needs of the company’s clients.

Brian was a four-year member of the Yale University men's varsity basketball team. His wife, Lauren, also attended Yale University, where she won an Ivy League championship as a member of the women’s varsity tennis team. Lauren is passionate about art and photography, and spent 10 years working in the curatorial department of the American Wing at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Brian and Lauren reside in Woodbury, NY with their son Weston and their dog Rudy. They are both avid tennis players who enjoy taking the court recreationally and competitively.
